Week 6 Preview Print E-mail
Wednesday, 15 November 2006

We its all come down to one game as Druid Hills and Roswell do battle to see who is the Premier team in the AARFL for Fall 2006. Both teams from all accounts will have a full team to take the field in what is no doubt going to be the highlight of the season. Druid Hills have been the benchmark team of the competition all season with their relentless run on style of game and their agility around the packs. Roswell on the other hand have been the steady improvers after a narrow win in round one they have progressed well and have been playing some good footy of late.

There will be several key players as always providing a huge influence on the result of the game. Druid Hills star in Marc Buhaj will take a big hand along with his teamates Alan Mobley, Ben Crist and Brent Kewley. For Roswell Hugo Sach will certainly be the focal point with Justin Diamond, old timer Wayne Kraska and Thad Sheffield chipping in to help.

The last time the two teams met Druid Hills broke away early and were never in danger of defeat. Their running that day with a small compact squad of players was far too much for the older and noticeably slower Roswell team. Both teams certainly line up differently on paper. Up forward Druid Hills has no regular forwards they can rely on and will look to their onballers to kick their score as usual. For Roswell both Kraska and Sheffield could be relied upon to be major contributors as permanent full forwards for their team.

In the backline Mobley for Druid Hills has been outstanding as has Lucy in the ruck. Roswell conversely dont have a regular ruckman and will rely on Frost or even Sach for the center contests, a set up that takes away some of their center line drive that will be needed so much against the Druid Hills running centers like Buhaj.

So who will it be? Be assured the game will be fitting of a Grand Final and all players will give 100%. It certainly will be a great way to finish the fall 2006 AARFL season. Good Luck to both teams.

In the other games Midtown are looking to end the season with a 500 record and Decatur will be looking for their first win after two miserable turn outs the last two weeks. In the Women's league a game at 9.30am is scheduled  the same as in other weeks. Lets get get down there and support them also.

Dont forget the after match social at the Brewhouse Cafe in Little Five Points. Plenty of Fosters pitchers to toast the Premiership team of AARFL Fall 2006.
